Following on from the events and guidelines outlined by the Government this weekend the surgery have had to take unprecedented action to protect our frontline staff at Castlegate/Church St surgeries.
From today our doors will closed and only those patients who require urgent and necessary treatment will be able to enter by prior agreement.
Patients who may still need to be seen
- Baby Imms
- Post natal checks
- B12 injections
- Hormone injections
- Dressings
- Pneumonia injections
However, these appointments will only be booked after you have been assessed via telephone for COVID 19 by a nurse who will also discuss the urgency of your request. If you do need to be seen face to face then you will probably be asked to attend that same day.
If you require medication we urge you to register online and set up a nominated pharmacy. The password and guidance can be requested via our website or you can ask the pharmacy to start doing this for you. If you have no internet access then you should post paper prescription requests through the front door letterbox. There is no need to enter the building. In exceptional circumstances (i.e elderly with no access to internet) we may take your request over the telephone if it is already on your repeat medication list.
If you are due a blood test, you can just go to Hertford County, QE2 or Lister Hospital, there is no need to collect the request form from us. Please do not attend Bowling Rd, Ware clinic as they cannot do blood tests without a paper form.
Sick notes: These need to be either posted or sent electronically (if you have an email address).
Pill checks and contraception can be dealt with on the telephone.
Please contact the surgery either by telephone or using the website facility to ‘Ask a Question’ if you have any issues.
