At the weekend it was announced that our area was going in to the new Tier 4 under stay at home guidance.
This is in response to a new, faster spreading variant of the virus which is creating a significant increase to case numbers across London and the South East.
The information about this new strain is still unfolding but at the moment there is no change to treatment, testing and the current approved vaccine. It is estimated that the new strain is becoming the predominant type spreading in many of the areas of London, the South East and East of England (responsible for close to 60% of new cases). The strain is being closely studied.
We will update you when we hear anything on this.
